Burglary in progress call leads to arrest at Shep's Bar-B-Q

PALESTINE, August 15, 2013--Last night, a little before 9:00 p.m., Palestine Police officers responded to a possible burglary in progress call at Shep’s Bar-B-Q, located at 1013 Palestine Avenue.

When officers arrived, they noticed a female subject, later identified as 38 year-old April Defore, of Palestine, standing in the building, just inside the back doorway. Defore ran through the building and out the front door where officers were able to detain her.

Defore was taken into custody and charged with Burglary of a Building.

According to Palestine Police Lt. James Muniz, a concerned citizen made the initial report which stated there was a male subject as well as the female subject. Police believe the male may have escaped  while police were arresting Defore.

This case is under investigation.
