Brookshire's to fly heroes to Washington D.C.

PALESTINE, May 15,2013--Brookshire’s/ Super 1 Foods Hero Flights is a program in which U.S. Veterans are flown to Washington D.C., free of charge to take a tour of the Capital and visit memorials all over the city.

The Brookshire’s/Super 1 Foods WWII Heroes Flight, which will depart on Thursday, May 23, will focus on visiting the WWII Memorial in addition to the tour of the Capital, and observing the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. Thirty Veterans from all over East Texas will be on board, along with 23 Brookshire’s employee volunteers who assist the Veterans. Veterans will depart from the Fresh by Brookshire’s store in Tyler at 6:00 a.m. Veterans will return to the same location around 9:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 25.
