ELKHART, January 17, 2014— The citizens of Elkhart have begun to reach out in support by organizing fundraisers which will benefit the children of Loren Salcedo.
Lorena Salas Salcedo was killed on Wednesday, leaving behind three children. A Capital Murder warrant has been served on Victor Salcedo in connection with the crime. Salcedo is in stable condition in a Tyler hospital after suffering a gunshot wound to the face in an apparent suicide attempt.

This fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Just Dance in Elkhart. Red/Green Enchiladas, Beans and Rice will be served for $5.00. Pasole will be served for $4.00. Baked goods and other refreshments will also be available. Food will be available throughout the day, beginning at 8:00 a.m. All proceeds from food sales will be donated to the children of the victim. In addition, Just Dance will donate 50 percent of their daily proceeds.

Elkhart Middle School Bake Sale
Elkhart Middle School will hold a Bake Sale on Saturday, Jan. 21, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., in the cafeteria. Proceeds will benefit children of the victim.
