Athens shows support for community during Good Morning Texas live broadcast

ATHENS, April 23, 2014—Henderson County residents turned out in large numbers to be a part of the Good Morning Texas live broadcast which took place at Athens City Hall Wednesday morning.

McDonalds provided breakfast to participants beginning at 7:30 a.m. and Good Morning Texas was aired live from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Mayor Jerry Don Vaught was the event spokesperson, and entertainment was provided by the Trinity Valley Community College (TVCC) Regiment Drum Line.

In addition, Athens was touted as being “home of the hamburger,” and Republic Services offered free hamburgers to those in attendance.
