Athens man sentenced to 15 years for 5th D.W.I.

HENDERSON CO., November 22, 2013—Willie Earl Davis, age 51, of Athens, has been sentenced to 15 years for the charge of D.W.I. – Third or More, in the 173rd District Court, Judge Dan Moore presiding.

According to Henderson Co. District Attorney Scott McKee, this was Davis’ 5th D.W.I. conviction.

An officer stopped Davis in Athens, after observing him driving a 4-wheeler which was not road-legal. The officer observed Davis appeared to be intoxicated. Davis admitted to being intoxicated and reportedly told the officer a blood test would reveal multiple substances, including alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, and embalming fluid.

“[The Sentence] is about right for someone with a 5th D.W.I. conviction, and certainly someone who has not changed their behavior,” said McKee.
