Art in the Park set for Saturday

TYLER, April 11, 2013-- The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department is proud to announce the fourth annual Art in the Park on Saturday, April 13, at the 1859 Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum, 624 N. Broadway Ave. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and admission is free.

Fine art from a multitude of artists will be exhibited. Artists will be showcasing artwork in different mediums such as oil on canvas, watercolors, pastels, acrylics, pottery, sculpture and more. The art will be displayed in the natural and historic setting in front of the Goodman home. Much of the artwork will be available for sale.

Outdoor entertainment will be provided by Music from DJ Knight and Meaghan Brooks. Tours of the Goodman Museum will be given throughout the day as well.

“This fine art community event has been catching on with local artists who normally have limited venues to showcase their talent,” said Patricia Heaton, Goodman Museum curator. “This year there is a record number of artists who are participating. If you haven’t come to this event in the past, this year is definitely the time to check it out.”
