TYLER, September 17, 2013-- Apache Belle Gold, the alumni group of the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles, has established an East Texas Chapter.
The group will hold its official kickoff with a gathering 6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, at Coyote Sam’s Bar & Grille, at 5424 Old Jacksonville Hwy, in Tyler.
“All former Apache Belles living in the East Texas area are invited to attend,” said Don Fraser, TJC director of alumni affairs.
TJC President Dr. Mike Metke will join board members of the TJC Alumni Association and Apache Belle Gold at the event.
The purpose of the East Texas Chapter is to reflect the purposes of the Tyler Junior College Alumni Association and the Apache Belle Gold, which is to unite, inform and involve Apache Belle Gold alumni and friends regionally for the purpose of promoting, protecting and preserving the Tyler Junior College Apache Belles organization.
This marks the 66th year of the Apache Belles, TJC’s high-kicking, precision dance team that began in 1947.
