TYLER, April 22, 2013-- The Eighth Annual Cotton Belt Train Show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, April 27, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at the East Texas Fairgrounds located at Harvey Convention Center, 2000 W. Front Street.
Vendors will display all scales of railroad memorabilia, model trains, track and accessories alongside model railroad clubs with scale (“N”, “HO”, “O”, and “G”) layouts for all to enjoy.
“This will be a fun filled day for everyone, adults and children alike,” said Glenn Wilkins, director of the Cotton Belt Depot Museum. “All proceeds will go to the operations of the Museum.”
There will be a free Digital Command Control (DCC) Workshop at 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, and 11:30 a.m., on Sunday.
A replica Mountain Express Train will be roaming through the parking lot carrying passengers on a thrilling ride for $2 per person.
“You could be the lucky winner of one of the five grand prizes,” said Wilkins, “So come on out and let’s play trains with some of the best modelers in the ARK-LA-TEX.”
Admission for the show is $6 per person with children under 12 free.
