Angelina College Chorale presenting Spring Concert

LUFKIN, April 19, 2013-- Their timing couldn’t be any better in light of recent events around the world. Angelina College’s Chorale will present an afternoon of traditional favorites in a spring concert themed “Songs of Hope for World Peace” scheduled to take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 21st at the Hudgins Hall Auditorium on the AC campus.

Directed by Beckie Compton, the AC Chorale, featuring both students and special guests, will include in its program such classics as “What a Wonderful World”, “O Susann!”, “Last Rose of Summer” (featuring soloists Allysan McCreary and Haley Barrett), “Danny Boy” (featuring guest soloist Garland Buffalo), “The Vagabond” (featuring guest soloist Jonathan Glaesemann), “Horizons” (featuring soloists Luke Sowell, Michael Mendoza, Jamie Streetman and Spencer Tutt), “From a Distance” (featuring soloists Chelsie Brazeil, Marisa Sobray, MaryJo Carlton and Haley Barrett), “I Believe” (featuring soloists Kimberly Noble and Pernell Moore), “Da Pacem, Domine”, and “We are the World” (featuring soloists Carlton, Barrett, Tutt, Moore, Sobray, Sowell, Chance Moore, Kim Noble, Jill Peck, Eduardo Cerzo; and trio Streetman, McCreary and Noble).

The Chorale is comprised of students, faculty members and guests, including the following: sopranos Martha Bailey, Haley Barrett, Kelly Chissus, Allysan McCreary, Kimberly Noble and Marisa Sobray; altos Chelsie Brazeil, MaryJo Carlton, Patty Donaldson, Monica Jones, Kaitlin Knox-Whigham, Jill Peck and Gala Walker; tenors Michael Mendoza, Pernell Moore, Stacy Perkins, Kegan Sessions, Jamie Streetman and Luke Sowell; and bass Eduardo Cerezo, Jonathan Glaesemann,  Bryan Compton, Chance Moore and Spencer Tutt. 

Scheduled accompanists include Anna Harbuck and Beckie Compton.     

Tickets for the performance are $4 for adults and $3 for seniors, students and children.
