Anderson Co. budget includes small tax increase

ANDERSON CO., August 5, 2014—The Anderson County Commissioner’s Court is working on the new budget, which will include a 1 cent tax increase, according to Anderson County Judge Robert Johnston.

“Our values were not very high this year, and of all the new property added to the appraised value this year, it only turned into being $3,334 in new tax revenue, and it’s just not enough to get done what we need to get done,” said Judge Johnston.

KYYK’s Gary Richards spoke with Judge Johnston about the proposed budget, upcoming projects, and what that means to employees and tax payers. Click below for more.
