LUFKIN, February 10, 2013-- Angelina College Theatre will present British playwright Harold Pinter’s dramatic story of friendship, love and “Betrayal” in a three-night production beginning Thursday, February 14, and running through February 16, in the Temple Theater located on the Angelina College campus.
All shows begin at 7:30 p.m.
Pinter’s adult-themed play follows a love affair in reverse order: Two former lovers meet for drinks years after their affair ended, and the plot moves from the end back to the beginning. Twists and turns arise from the relationships between the characters – and how those relationships led to the opening scene.
“This is Pinter’s most accessible play and one of my personal favorites,” says director Kary Raine. “The betrayal happens on so many different levels, and the audience shares in some of the characters’ most emotionally intimate moments. The intimacy is one reason why I decided to use unconventional staging.”
Cast and crew members include the following:
Karen Jones as Emma; Tyler Arnold as Jerry; Taz Powers as Robert; and Darbie Proctor as a waitress.
Production crew: Kary Raine, director; Christian Specht, Scene Design, Technical Director; Ashleigh Knox, Stage Manager; Kindle Bonner, Asst. Stage Manager; Nancy Foote, Costume Designer; Ryan Daniels, Light Board Operator; Clint Davis, Sound Board Operator; Theatre Lab students, Stage Crew; Michele Hill and Christian Specht, Publicity Design; and Retha Powers, House Manager.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for seniors and older students. For more information, contact the AC Box Office at 936-633-5454.
