4th annual Anderson Co. Walk a Mile in Her Shoes most successful yet

PALESTINE, April 28, 2014—The 4th annual Anderson County Walk a Mile in Her Shoes was held on Saturday, with participants walking from Palestine Regional Medical Center to the Palestine Mall wearing high-heeled shoes in an effort to raise awareness of the issue of domestic violence. Proceeds from the event benefit the Crisis Center of Anderson and Cherokee Counties.

According to Crisis Center’s Brandon Greene, Cherokee County participants have won the bragging rights again this year for most money  raised, however, the event continues to gain support and just gets better each year. Contribution money is still being counted for Anderson County, but approximately $8,700 has been raised by walking participants thus far. Greene expects that proceeds from both counties combined will reach approximately $30,000.
