(VATICAN CITY) -- The Vatican Press Officer confirmed on Wednesday that Pope Francis will visit the Republic of Korea for the 6th Asian Youth Day in August.
The event will last from August 13 to 18 and will represent the pope's third trip overseas, following a trip to Brazil in July 2013 and his journey to the Middle East in May. Pope Francis is expected to meet with the South Korean President Park Geun-hye.
The pontiff will also host a number of holy masses, speak with a group of Bishops and at least one youth organization.
Francis will leave from Rome on 4 p.m. local time on Aug. 13 and will return to the Vatican Monday night.
