(LAGOS, Nigeria) -- The recent outbreak of Ebola continues to cause devastation in western Africa, as officials said on Wednesday that a nurse in Nigeria died of the disease, and a Saudi Arabian man who was being tested for Ebola also died.
Bahir Mohammed of Nigeria's Ministry of Health confirmed the nurse's death due to complications from the Ebola virus on Wednesday. The nurse reportedly treated naturalized American Patrick Sawyer, who himself died of Ebola last month. There may be at least five additional cases of Ebola in Nigeria.
The Saudi Arabian Health Ministry also confirmed that a man who was being tested for the disease died.
In total, the World Health Organization says 932 people have been killed in the outbreak, with 1,711 affected by the disease in Liberia, Guinea, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
