(LONDON) -- Foreign Office minister Baroness Warsi resigned from the British government Tuesday, citing its policy on the crisis in Gaza as "morally indefensible."
Sayeeda Warsi is among a number of politicians from Prime Minister David Cameron's ruling party who have been pushing the leader to take a stronger stance on Israel.
Opposition Labor party leader Ed Miliband said Warsi acted with "principle and integrity."
London mayor Boris Johnson, a fellow Conservative, paid tribute to Warsi, condemning Israeli violence as "disproportionate."
As for the Baroness, she believes Britain's current governmental stance is "detrimental" to Britain's national interest.
