(PHILADELPHIA) -- Phillies second baseman Chase Utley drove in the go-ahead run in the fourth inning as Philadelphia (56-71) defeated the Seattle Mariners (68-58), 4-3 on Wednesday.
With the game tied at 3-3 in the fourth, Utley took a 3-2 pitch from Mariners starter James Paxton and singled to right, allowing shortstop Jimmy Rollins to score. Paxton finished the day coughing up seven hits and one earned run in four innings of work.
Phillies starter Cole Hamels picked up his seventh win of the season, giving up three earned runs and nine hits in five innings. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his 30th save of the season.
Mariners first baseman Kendrys Morales hit his fourth home run of the season in the second inning.
