(NEW YORK) -- The New York Knicks have an agreement in place with Derek Fisher to become the team's next head coach, according to multiple media reports.
Yahoo! Sports reports the two sides are working to finalize a five-year, $25 million deal.
The 39-year-old Fisher played this season for the Oklahoma City Thunder, averaging 5.2 points and 1.4 assists per game. He played parts of nine NBA seasons on teams that were coached by current Knicks president Phil Jackson, winning five titles.
During his 18 NBA seasons, Fisher averaged 8.3 points, three assists and 1.1 steals per game. He's also won an NBA-record 161 playoff games.
Fisher takes over a Knicks team that went 37-45 last season, missing the playoffs for the first time in four seasons.
