(NEW YORK) -- Kevin Love won't be playing for Team USA in the FIBA World Cup this summer.
The 25-year-old Love is the center of trade speculation which led him to withdraw from the team.
"The fact is we can only look to the players we have available," Team USA managing director Jerry Colangelo said in a statement. "Our job is to get the job done with our very, very deep roster, and we're anxious to get things started."
There has been speculation that Love, who currently plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves, could be traded to a number of teams, with Cleveland being the likeliest destination. But Cavaliers rookie Andrew Wiggins, who would probably be a center piece of the deal, just signed a contract with Cleveland and can't be traded for 30 days (Aug. 23)
Love won gold medals with Team USA at the 2012 Olympics and 2010 world championship.
The 6-foot-10, 260 pound forward has played in six NBA seasons averaging 19.2 points, 12.2 boards and 2.7 assists per game.
