(NEW YORK) -- Georgetown and Syracuse couldn't stand being apart.
The two schools announced Tuesday that starting in the 2015-16 season, they will play a four-year home-and-home series. The two teams have not played since the end of the 2012-13 season, after which Syracuse moved to the ACC.
"We're excited to announce the renewal of the Georgetown-Syracuse rivalry," Georgetown athletic director Lee Reed said in a press release. "The re-establishment of this series is good for college basketball fans across the country. I know that our program and fans will be excited to have a game against Syracuse on our schedule. This is something that both schools have worked very hard to have happen, and we're very happy to have this series continue."
The Orange will host the Hoyas at the Carrier Dome during the 2016-17 and 2018-19 seasons. Georgetown will host Syracuse at Verizon Center during the 2015-16 and 2017-18 seasons.
The two schools have met 90 times in their storied histories.
