(DAVIE, Fla.) -- The Miami Dolphins have signed veteran quarterback Brady Quinn, the team announced on Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Quinn is expected to battle Matt Moore for the backup job behind starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill.
The Dolphins will mark Quinn’s seventh NFL team. He was originally selected out of Notre Dame by the Cleveland Browns with the 22nd overall pick in the 2007 NFL draft.
In 24 career games, Quinn has passed for 3,043 yards with 12 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. He suited up with the Seattle Seahawks, New York Jets and St. Louis Rams last season, but did not play.
Quinn won the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award following the 2006 season at Notre Dame, which is given to the best college quarterback in the nation.
He was recently announced as a new broadcaster for Fox's NFL coverage. That job is now on hold due to his commitment to the Dolphins.
