(MIAMI) -- Mario Chalmers inked a new two-year deal with the Miami Heat Monday that will pay the point guard close to $4 million next season.
"It's great to have Mario back," Heat president Pat Riley said. "We're happy that he wants to continue his career in Miami, he's one of our core players, and I believe he will have a great season."
The 28-year-old Chalmers has played all six of his NBA seasons in Miami. During that time he's averaged 8.6 points, 2.4 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game.
Chalmers becomes the latest offseason signing for the Heat, which already signed forwards Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger, as well as center Chris Bosh.
