(NEW YORK) -- One day after fans were in jubilation over the drafting of quarterback Johnny Manziel, the Cleveland Browns may be down their top receiver this coming season. Sources tell ESPN that Josh Gordon is facing a season-long suspension for failing a second drug test months ago, this time for marijuana.
Gordon, the NFL's leading receiver in 2013, would not comment on the possible ban when reached by phone. "That's something you're going to have to talk to (agent) Drew Rosenhaus about. I really don't know anything about it."
Rosenhaus also would not comment, saying the information given was "not true."
This would mark the second time that Gordon has failed a drug test while in the NFL. He was suspended for two games at the start of last season but still led the league with 1,646 receiving yards. Gordon claimed the failed test was due to a cough medicine that contained codine.
The 23-year old was projected to be the top target for incumbent quarterback Brian Hoyer or Manziel should he win the job. Gordon also had issues in college while at Baylor, once being dismissed from the team after being suspended twice for marijuana use.
