(SANTA CLARA, Calif.) -- Offensive Tackle Glenn Dorsey signed a two-year contract extension with the San Francisco 49ers Tuesday that keeps him with the team through the 2016 season.
Dorsey joined the 49ers in 2013 after playing his first five seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 6-foot-2, 316-pound Dorsey played in all 16 games last season recording two sacks and 30 tackles. He also appeared in all three of the team's playoff games.
"Glenn is a true pro who has quickly become a valued contributor to our organization both on and off the field," 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said in a statement. "He is a quick study and a very good football player that has earned this extension, and we look forward to his future contributions."
The 29-year-old Dorsey was selected with the fifth overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft by the Chiefs.
During his six-year NFL career, Dorsey has started 78 of the 82 games he appeared in, compiling 189 tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble.
