(WASHINGTON) -- After a number of reports last week that President Obama might wait until after the November midterms to take executive action on immigration -- potentially to protect vulnerable Democrats from political fallout -- White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest had no update on timing Tuesday when he fielded questions during his daily press briefing.
“There’s a chance it could be before the end of the summer. There’s a chance it could be after the summer,” Earnest said.
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and Attorney General Eric Holder are in the midst of reviewing the president’s options, Earnest claimed.
“The president’s determination to act and his commitment to acting have not changed in any way,” Earnest said.
