(NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.) -- Wal-Mart truck driver Kevin Roper, the man accused of causing the car wreck that put Tracy Morgan and others in the hospital and left one dead, pleaded not guilty on Wednesday.
Roper appeared in Middlesex Superior Court in New Jersey to enter his plea. The judge told him to show up for his next court date, though it has yet to be scheduled. He remains free on $50,000 bail.
The charges against Roper include one count of vehicular homicide. He is accused of not having slept for 24 hours prior to the crash.
Morgan, who's recovering from a broken leg, femur, nose and several ribs, is currently listed in critical but stable condition at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Morgan's assistant, Jeffrey Millea, and comedian Ardie Fuqua Jr. were also critically injured in the six-vehicle crash. Comic James "Jimmy Mack" McNair was killed.
