Tracy Morgan Showing 'Signs of Improvement' Following Crash

Fri, 13 Jun 2014 08:36:32 +0000

Virginia Sherwood/NBC(NEW YORK) -- Tracy Morgan is showing "signs of improvement" following the crash last weekend that injured him and three others, and killed one.

In a statement released Thursday afternoon, a rep for the 30 Rock actor said, "Today was a better day. While Tracy remains in critical, but stable, condition, he continues to show signs of improvement."

The rep added, "His medical team remains optimistic that his recovery is progressing."

Morgan suffered a broken leg, femur, nose and several ribs when a tractor-trailer struck his limo bus on the New Jersey Turnpike last Saturday. Morgan's assistant, Jeffrey Millea, and comedians Ardie Fuqua Jr. and Harris Stanton were also injured in the six-vehicle crash. Comic James "Jimmy Mack" McNair was killed.

Thursday's statement noted that, according to Millea's wife, Millea has shown improvement in recent days.

Walmart truck driver Kevin Roper has pleaded not guilty to death by auto and assault by auto charges in connection with the crash.

On a related note, Louis C.K. and comedy producer Judd Apatow on Wednesday night both appealed to TMZ to remove from its website a video that was filmed at the scene of the accident.

Louis tweeted to his followers, "Please don't go to TMZ to watch the video. Please ask them to take it down."

Fuqua's daughter has written online, "They don't understand how hurtful it is to see my father be dragged out of the wreckage."
