Anderson County Deputy in critical condition

PALESTINE, June 4, 2012— Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor has announced that one of his deputies has been seriously injured in a three-vehicle accident. At approximately 10:30 p.m., on Saturday evening, Deputy Hunter Lawrance responded to a call regarding a fellow officer in need of assistance. While en route, Deputy Lawrance was involved in a three-vehicle accident on 287 South near Benbrook.

Deputy Lawrance suffered multiple injuries and was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler where he has been listed in “critical” condition.

Sheriff Taylor asks for prayers for Deputy Lawrance and his family. He states, “Lord willing, he recovers from this. He’s a bright officer with a good future here, so we just ask people to pray for him.”

Occupants of the other vehicles, including three children, were treated for minor injuries and released.

The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
